"Americans, Germans, Chinese, Japanese... I never once cared about the nationality or morality of my employers; so long as they respect and let me pursue science to my heart's content, that would be enough."

~Frank Rosefield, to Shizuo Takada.

Frank Rosefield was a scientist who lived in the 20th century. A specialist in biological and chemical weapons' research during his lifetime, Rosefield is most notable for his creation of 45-29, as well as his significant contribution to Kriegtod and Projekt Kokone.

History[]

Early life[]

Rosefield was born in Centralia, Pennsylvania, on the 14th of November, 1890. At a young age, Rosefield was noted for his higher-than-average intelligence, but also his unwillingness to befriend people.

Rosefield left his parents to live by himself in 1908. During that time, he worked many a job to support his hobby as a small time inventor - inspired by stories of the Wright brothers. Between 1908 and 1915, Rosefield presented to the American public many of his creations and theoretical works, none of which quite gripped the American curiosity.

World War I[]

On the eve of the outbreak of World War I, anti-German sentiments began to sweep America, especially after the sinking of RMS Lusitania. Rosefield's surname became a basis for people to discriminate against him - which had a strong impact on the young man's mentality. Growing increasingly disillusioned with America, Rosefield impulsively decided to go on a voyage to Germany - his "homeland" according to those who discriminated against him.

Once in Germany, it didn't take long for the German High Command to recognize the potential of and decide to recruit Rosefield for their war effort. Bringing with him his last invention before he left the United States - a gaseous chemical, Rosefield managed to better a chlorine-based poison gas for German forces - which was ultimately used to end the Battle of Osowiec Fortress. Upon inspection of the battlefield, however, Rosefield deemed the results unsatisfactory.

From 1915 until the end of the war, Rosefield worked in the relative safety of a laboratory on the outskirts of Berlin, continuing to create various weapons - mostly biological and chemical in origin, but also occasionally other types.
